A Sephardic song in Ladino — the Judeo-Spanish carried out of Iberia after 1492 and kept alive for five centuries in Salonica, Istanbul, Sarajevo and Izmir.

Janet and Jak Esim are Turkish musicians who have spent decades recording this repertoire. Much of it survived orally through women's songs, which is why so much of it is domestic: weddings, lullabies, complaints about husbands.
