Histoire d'un amour

Originally Historia de un amor, written in 1955 by the Panamanian composer Carlos Eleta Almarán after his brother's wife died. It has been recorded in a dozen languages and is close to a standard across Latin America.

Dalida — Egyptian-born, Italian by descent, French by career — sang in all of those languages over her life, and the French reading is the one most European listeners know.
