Marissa Nadler Music

folkdream-folk

Leonard Cohen's song, from Songs of Love and Hate (1971) — a letter written at four in the morning to the man who slept with the writer's wife, and one of the strangest forgiveness songs ever written.

Marissa Nadler is an American songwriter working in a reverb-heavy, slow register that suits it. Cohen himself said he was never fully satisfied with the lyric, which is a remarkable thing to say about a song people have covered for fifty years.
