Mohsen Namjoo

persian

Mohsen Namjoo is often described as the Iranian Bob Dylan, a comparison he has never accepted. He sets classical Persian poetry — Hafez, Rumi — against blues and rock forms, and trained in traditional Persian vocal technique before doing so.

That combination made him genuinely controversial in Iran; he has lived outside the country since 2007.
