Einaudi: Nuvole Bianche

Ludovico Einaudi

neoclassicalpiano

Probably the most played piece of contemporary classical music in the world, which says as much about streaming and film trailers as about the composition. Einaudi works in small repeating cells and gradual harmonic drift rather than themes and development.

Conservatoire opinion has never been kind about it. That argument tends to miss what the piece is for: it is written to be lived alongside rather than analysed.
