Əbədiyyət Nəğməsi

Mikayıl Müşfiq was one of the leading Azerbaijani poets of the 1930s, associated with the lyric revival of that decade and with poems built on folk forms — the tar, the saz, the songs that Soviet cultural policy was then trying to suppress.

He was arrested in the purges and shot in 1938, at twenty-nine. Most of what survives was republished only after his rehabilitation in the 1950s.
